Inspired by jars Syrian refugee Afraa Hashem brought from Syria, 'AFRAA' depicts the life of a Syrian activist exiled from her country in the fight against President Bashar al-Assad.

'People don't become inured to what they are shown, It is passivity that dulls feeling.'Susan Sontag. Passivity explored this theory by studying throughout the exhibition, how the audience engage with the violent confrontational artwork presented to them.

Safer Than the Land’ 2019 developed on from 'Shattered Lives' and in turn focused more specifically on three year old Alan Kurdi’s fatal journey resulting in his death on the shore of Bodrum.

Influenced by the harrowing journey Syrian civilians have to make across the Mediterranean sea, Shattered Lives explores the devastating choices the people of Syria have to make to get themselves and their children to safety.
